A list of the Windows 11 updates can be found on this Microsoft website. I have pulled out the details below.

Update KB5012592 for Windows 11

Cumulative Update KB5012592 raises the OS build on Windows 11 to 22000.613 and includes quality improvements and security patches, but no new OS features. The following issues are fixed:

This update contains miscellaneous security improvements to internal OS functionality. No additional issues were documented for this release.

Microsoft notes that this update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack (is responsible for Microsoft updates). This update is automatically downloaded and installed by Windows Update, but is also available from Microsoft Update Catalog and via WSUS and WUfB. Microsoft is only aware of a backup issue with the update. Further details can be found in the KB article.

Windows Server 2022

Cumulative update KB5012604 has been released for Windows Server 2022, according to this Microsoft page, raising the OS build to 20348.643. Among the fixes this update makes, Microsoft writes:

  • Addresses an issue that causes a Denial of Service vulnerability on Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV). For more information, see CVE-2020-26784.
  • Addresses an issue that prevents you from changing a password that has expired when you sign in to a Windows device.

The password loop bug that I mentioned in the blog post Windows Server: Open issues from March 2022 Updates (KB5011551, KB5011497) – for Windows Server 2019 – also appears to have occurred in Windows Server 2022 and has been fixed.

Microsoft notes that this update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack (which is responsible for Microsoft updates). This update is automatically downloaded and installed by Windows Update, but is also available from the Microsoft Update Catalog and via WSUS and WUfB. However, the update causes various problems, which are listed in the support article.

Note: The issue caused by update KB5011497 with remote connections, that certain roles are broken after installation (see blog post Windows Server 2022: March 2022 update KB5011497 breaks remote desktop gateway role)  is not addressed as fixed. It is currently unclear whether the KIR function for fixing a Remote Desktop error listed as a known issue also solves this error with the broken roles.

a few reports of Win11 KB5012592 update preventing Chrome & MS Edge from launching, causing the 0xc0000022 error as noted here:

edit – seems to be caused by ESET AV. need a recent software fix from ESET to resolve the problem

Unfortunately, KB5012604 did not resolve this issue for me on my WS 2022 DC's…(?)
