A list of Windows 11 updates can be found on this Microsoft website. Microsoft states there that the unscheduled update KB5019509 for Windows 11 22H2 raises the operating system to build 22621.675. The update rolls out the following highlights as new features:

  • File Explorer now includes tabs to organize File Explorer sessions like in Microsoft Edge. On the new File Explorer home page, important files can be pinned for quick and easy access. In OneDrive, you're supposed to see other users' actions on shared files. Also, personalized suggestions are made based on a Microsoft 365 account.
  • A feature called Suggested Actions has been added for items that users copy. However, this feature is only available to users in the United States, Canada and Mexico. For example, if phone numbers or future appointments are copied, the feature makes suggestions such as making a call with Teams or Skype or adding an event in the Calendar app.
  • In addition, an overflow menu for the taskbar has been added. The taskbar provides an entry point for a menu that shows the user all your overflowing apps in one place.

Microsoft states in the support article that the update brings the following changes or improvements:

  • The already mentioned tabs in the file explorer.
  • The new Suggested Actions feature for items
  • The overflow menu for the taskbar
  • A Nearby Shares feature that now allows more devices, including desktops, to be discovered and shared by using Nearby Sharing.
  • All applications can now be uninstalled, repaired, and modified through Windows Settings instead of Control Panel.
  • Federated authentication performance has been improved.

Microsoft notes that this update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack (is responsible for Microsoft updates). This update will be distributed Windows Update when you check for optional updates. Furthermore, the update can be downloaded and installed manually via Microsoft Update Catalog. Microsoft is not currently aware of any issues related to this update.

note that the KB5019509 update does NOT include the SSL/TLS fixes as the SSL/TLS connection problems still exists for Win11 22H2, even with KB5019509 installed.

This is really wreaking havoc with my customer base who relies on this every day. I really hope they get this fixed soon!

Why have an out of band update? these features don't seem that "criticial"
