Google Chrome 116.0.5845.110/.111

[German]Google has released updates to the Google Chrome browser 116 in the stable channel for Mac, Linux and Windows on August 22, 2023. These are security updates that will be rolled out in the coming weeks and should eliminate 5 vulnerabilities (classified as "high"). Furthermore, there is an update to the Chrome app for Android as well as for iOS.

Details about the vulnerabilities (e.g. buffer overflow in the Vulkan module) are, as usual, not mentioned. Chrome will be rolled out to systems via the automatic update function in the next few days. One can (and in this case should) also update the browser manually (via the menu and the About Google Chrome command). The latest build of the Chrome browser can also be downloaded here.

Chrome for Android 116.0.5845.114

Furthermore, Google updated Chrome for Android to version 116.0.5845.114 on August 22, 2023, according to this Google post, and it will be distributed in the next few days. This version includes stability and performance improvements, as well as the same security fixes as mentioned above for the desktop versions of the browser.

Chrome for iOS 116.0.5845.118

As of August 22, 2023, Google has also updated the Chrome for iOS app this Google post to version 116.0.5845.118 and should be available in the Apple iTunes Store. This version includes stability and performance improvements.
