Google Chrome 116.0.5845.140/.141

Chrome[German]Google has released updates to Google Chrome browser 116 in the stable channel for Mac, Linux and Windows as of August 29, 2023. These are security updates that are being rolled out and are intended to eliminate a vulnerability (classified as "high"). Furthermore, there is an update to the Chrome app for Android as well as for iOS.

Google Chrome 116.0.5845.140/.141

The relevant entry for Chrome 116 can be found on the Google blog. The stable channel has been updated to version 116.0.5845.14 for macOS and Linux. For Windows, the update updates the browser to version 116.0.5845.140/.141. It is an update that closes the following vulnerability, rated high.

As usual, no details are given. Chrome will be rolled out to systems via the automatic update feature in the next few days. One can (and in this case should) also update the browser manually (via the menu and the About Google Chrome command). The latest build of the Chrome browser can also be downloaded here.

Chrome for Android 116.0.5845.163

Furthermore, Google updated Chrome for Android to version 116.0.5845.163 on August 29, 2023, according to this Google post, and it will be distributed in the next few days. This version includes stability and performance improvements, as well as the same security fixes as mentioned above for the desktop versions of the browser.

Chrome for iOS 116.0.5845.146

As of August 29, 2023, Google has also updated the Chrome for iOS app, according to this Google post, to version 116.0.5845.146 and should be available in the Apple iTunes Store. This version includes stability and performance improvements.
