Thunderbird 115.9.0

[German]The developers of Thunderbird have released another update of the email client to version 115.9.0 on March 19, 2024. It is an update that is intended to fix some bugs and vulnerabilities.

According to the release notes, the update to version 115.9.0 brings the following bug fixes.

  • Opened, ignored messages in a message thread/subthread were not marked as read in IMAP folders
  • Multilingual spell checker sometimes skipped languages
  • Thread tree was not updated when switching live languages
  • Visual improvements to the "Reorder attachments" popup
  • Sort order in the "Grouped by" view was sometimes incorrect
  • When selecting "Match all messages" in the "Filter rules" dialog, not all search criteria were deactivated
  • For messages signed with S/MIME only, the signature was sometimes incorrectly displayed as invalid
  • OpenPGP keys uploaded to an HKP key server were sent with the wrong Content-Type header
  • The keyboard navigation in the search toolbar did not work
  • Flatpak builds had

In the new update, the vulnerabilities described on this page, some of which are classified as high, have been fixed. The system requirements for the different operating system versions (see here for more details):

  • Windows: Windows 7 or higher
  • Mac: Mac OS X 10.12 or higher
  • Linux: GTK+ 3.14 or higher
