A reader message

I wrote about the end of support for the Classic Teams client in my German blog post Microsoft Teams-Änderungen: Neu-Kennzeichnung verschwindet – Classic Teams ist EOL. German blog reader KT left this comment and reported, that the Teams client won't launch at all since July 2, 2024. Specifically, it says:

Teams is not working today and is returning numerous error messages that are not our fault. Last week it worked fine but today Teams wanted a new login with password (Microsoft account) and responded to several login attempts with completely different error messages. When I started to record the fun using the snippet tool, Teams finally logged in somehow and showed a green bar at the top indicating that not all options were available due to server errors.

When asked, the reader specified that he had tried both Microsoft Teams Classic and the new Microsoft Teams client. Microsoft Teams Classic does not start at all for the reader, while the new Microsoft Teams client produces errors. Microsoft Teams version 24152.412.2958.9166 is being used.

Microsoft is investigating the problem

Blog readers then pointed out that it is probably a known problem. Microsoft has issued the status entry TM807333 Users may be unable to access the Microsoft Teams desktop client.

The problem with the MS Teams client not starting affects Microsoft Teams version 24152.412.2958.9166 and potentially affects all users. One of the last updates has probably broken the client. The cause has been found and will be fixed.
