[German]Microsoft had set an upgrade block for Windows 11 24H2 on systems on which the game Asphalt 8 (Airborne) was installed. The problems now appear to have been resolved, as Microsoft has now lifted this upgrade blocker for Windows 11 24H2 on corresponding systems.

Windows 11 24H2 and the Asphalt 8 blocker
Microsoft had already noted in the Known Issues of the Windows 11 24H2 Release Health Dashboard at the start of the release that the operating system would not be offered as a feature update on systems with the game Asphalt 8 (Airborne) installed.
Asphalt 8 is a multiplayer game that causes problems on Windows 11 24H2. An exception (BSOD) may occur on devices running Asphalt 8. Microsoft has set up a compatibility lock that prevents the upgrade from older Windows versions. The details are described in the article Asphalt 8 might periodically stop responding. I mentioned this show stopper at the beginning of October 2024 in the article Windows 11 24H2: Numerous show-stoppers and known bugs.
Asphalt 8 upgrade block removed
In the Known Issues of the Windows 11 24H2 Release Health Dashboard, there has been an updated support entry Asphalt 8 might periodically stop responding since March 19, 2025. Microsoft has set the status of this Know Issue to "solved" and notes that the upgrade blockade (block with the ID 52796746) for Windows 11 24H2 has been lifted for systems on which Asphalt 8 is installed.
It can take up to 48 hours for the Windows 11, version 24H2 update to be offered in Windows Update in the settings. Restarting the device can speed up the process.
