[German]I don't know how many administrators from the blog readership are responsible for installations of the large Surface Hub 2S and Surface Hub v1 displays in their companies. These were delivered with Windows 10, which will be discontinued in October 2025. As the devices may not be able to be updated to Windows 11, the question arises as to what to do.

Surface Hub 2S and Surface Hub v1
The Surface Hub 2S and Surface Hub v1 were large displays that Microsoft touted years ago as "the presentation medium par excellence" for companies. I have pulled out two current advertisements for these devices as screenshots below – the devices were not cheap.
These devices were delivered with Windows 10 and advertised for use in companies. However, there were already signs in 2020 that the Surface Hub 2S would not be going any further. At that time, Teams development for this tablet was suspended.
Windows 10 reached EOL, need to act
On April 9, 2025, Microsoft published the article Surface Hub support ends for Windows 10—start your transition, in which it "promotes the transition" to new variants and asks users to take certain actions. As the devices are equipped with Windows 10, they will no longer be supported as of October 14, 2025.
Microsoft writes that effective October 14, 2025, Microsoft will discontinue support for Windows 10 Team Edition on Surface Hub v1 and Surface Hub 2S. After this date, these devices will no longer receive security updates, patches or support and the Microsoft Teams app will no longer work.

Now is the time to act to ensure your meeting rooms remain secure and fully functional. Microsoft suggests checking to see if your Surface Hub device is running Windows 10 Team Edition. This includes:
- Surface Hub v1 (only compatible with Windows 10 Team)
- Surface Hub 2S (suitable for upgrades)
For the Surface Hub v1, the Microsoft people recommend a hardware upgrade to the Surface Hub 3. The Surface Hub v1 will no longer be supported after October 2025.
For the Surface Hub 2S, an upgrade to Surface Hub 3 with the Surface Hub 3 Compute Cartridge (pre-installed with Windows 11-based Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows) can be selected.
You can switch to Teams Rooms on Windows with the Surface Hub 2S migration offer. This free offer is only valid until October 14, 2025.
Or you can switch to Windows 11 Pro/Enterprise if the device is used in "personal office scenarios". The Register has taken up the topic here and has a few thoughts on the subject.

V1 can live longer with the remote pc option. With this even touch should work.
