[German]The June 2025 security updates have caused various problems for individual users. On Windows Server 2016, the installation takes quite a long time (long known), and some administrators have problems with DCs and Exchange. On Windows Server 2016, the June 2025 update also seems to interfere with the DHCP server. Microsoft has since confirmed that it also affects Windows Server 2019, 2022 and 2025.

Windows Server updates June 2025
ZOn June 10, 2025, Microsoft released security updates for all supported Windows Server versions (see the blog post Patchday: Windows Server-Updates (June 10, 2025)). The numerous vulnerabilities that are to be eliminated with these security updates are described in the blog post Microsoft Security Update Summary (June 10, 2025). In particular, the problem described in the article Windows network vulnerability CVE-2025-33073 (Reflective Kerberos Relay Attack) could still cause trouble if patches cannot be installed.
Windows Server DHCP problems
German blog reader Stefan A. has posted a comment on the blog and points out issues that can arise with a DHCP server installed on Windows Server 2016. If the cumulative update KB5061010, which was provided not only for Windows 10 2016 Enterprise LTSC but also for Windows Server 2016, is installed, the DHCP server no longer works.
Discussion of the DHCP problems on reddit.com
Stefan A. has linked to the reddit.com post DHCP service might stop responding after installing the June 2025 update, where there is a description of the error. The poster runs a Windows Server 2016 that acts as a DHCP server. Immediately after installing the security update KB5061010, the DHCP server failed within 30 seconds. The administrators had to uninstall the update and restart the Windows Server 2016 to fix the problem.
Confirmed by Microsoft
In the Known Issues for cumulative update KB5061010 there is the entry "DHCP Server services", in which it is confirmed that the DHCP server service no longer responds at times after installation of the June 2025 update.Windows Server DHCP problems

This affects the IP renewal for clients. Microsoft is currently investigating the problem and will publish a solution in the next few days.
Several Windows Server versions affected
The colleagues from Bleeping Computer have taken the trouble to check all support articles regarding the DHCP problem. In this article, they report that Microsoft also listed Windows Server 2019 (update KB5060531), Windows Server 2022 (update KB5060526) and Windows Server 2025 (update KB5060842) as affected last weekend. Moving the DHCP server from Windows Server 2016 to a newer server version does not help.
Further problems with Windows Server
In the comments to myGerman article Patchday: Windows Server-Updates (10. Juni 2025) there are still isolated reports of further problems.
- Cedric writes in this German comment that the Exchange Server on Windows Server stopped working after the June 2025 updates. The Exchange Server no longer accepts mails after the update. The error "451 4.7.0 Temporary server error. Please try again later. PRX2" or subsequently PRX5, which according to the reader indicates a DNS problem. Another user also reported problems with the Exchange server in a follow-up comment.
- In this German comment, Christian describes problems with domain controllers where ADWS and DSFR no longer worked. He had to uninstall the updates to make it work again.
These are isolated reports, let's see if there are other administrators with the same problems.
