[German]In this blog post I like to give a short overview for Windows 7 users who continue to use the operating system and are looking for antivirus software.

Users who continue to use Windows 7 SP1 after the official end of support on January 14, 2020, will be faced with the question of which antivirus software is still working. Even if a Windows 7 SP1 with an ESU program still receives security updates or is backed up by the 0patch micro patches, it is likely that software vendors will reduce support for their products for this operating system over time.
Microsoft Security Essentials still works!
Last year I got a shock just before Christmas, and announced the end of MSE in the blog post Windows 7: Soon End-of-Life for Microsoft Security Essentials, which was based on Microsoft's FAQs for Windows 7 EOL. Fortunately it was a false alert (I will run one Windows 7 system with ESU license at least for 2020, so I can blog about patches).
Fortunately, Microsoft then clarified the situation. Microsoft Security Essentials will continue to work on Windows 7 SP1 for the time being and will also be provided with signature updates (see Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) for Windows 7 receive definition updates after January 14, 2020).
Ralf Lindemann left a few days ago this German comment, pointed out that he received the 'Security Intelligence Update for Windows Defender Antivirus – KB915597 (Version 1.307.3106.0)' on 27.1.2020 I didn't think it was worth mentioning, because the updates are still coming in (see picture above). But Windows 7 amazed me today with this display in Windows Update:

Will check, if my old article Windows 8.1: Update-Fenster ist leer (that recommends a re-boot) will help. But we shall note: Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) still works for a while.
Addendum: A restart create wonders – it was the Servicing Stack Update (SSU) from January 2020 that was installed.
Move AV programs for Windows 7
If you absolutely want to use other third-party products. AV-Test has a list of other AV products, that still works for Windows 7.
