Microsoft 365: Outage blocks Teams and Exchange Online (Oct. 8, 2025)

Stop - Pixabay[German]Yesterday noon / evening (Central European Time), October 8, 2025, there was a disruption to Microsoft 365 services. This resulted in users experiencing problems accessing Microsoft Teams and Exchange Online features. As the disruption occurred late in the evening, users in Europe were likely to have been less affected. After just under two hours, Microsoft managed to resolve the cause of the disruption.

I first noticed the issue yesterday evening (October 8, 2025) via the following tweet from the Microsoft-operated channel @MSFT365Status.

Microsoft 365 issue

It must have been around 5 p.m. in Europe. A good two hours later, the all-clear was given. The malfunction that prevented access to the systems was resolved by reconfiguring them. Microsoft documented the whole thing in bulletin MO1168102—our colleagues at Bleeping Computer have written more about it here.
