Yesterday Google has announced several new products at a press event. Two new Pixel smartphones, a VR head set, Google Home smart speakers, 4K Chromecast Ultra and Google WiFi. Here is a short overview.

Google Pixel and Pixel XL Smartphones
Google has presented two high end smartphones named Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL It's the end of the Nexus devices and also the OEMs producing these devices are no more named – the devices are introduced as "developed by Google".

Google mentioned on the presentation, that the Pixels are the first smartphones with integrated Google Assistant. Details about both devices may be found at this Google page.

Both Pixel smartphones will be shipped after October 20, 2016 with Android 7.1 and has 2 years support.

Google Wifi and 4K Chromecast
Google Wifi is a WiFi home router that replaces your router for seamless coverage throughout your home. An app is used to configure the device. The device will be shipped for $129 from December 2016. VR headset Daydream View
The new Daydream View VR headset replaces Google Cardboard and is available at $79. The VR headset needs a "supported" smartphone – currently only Google Pixel and Pixel XL are available.
