Exchange Online/Access failure (01/23/2020)

[German]At Microsoft there seems to be a disruption in cloud services. Exchange Online (and according to the title of the status report Access) are probably affected by this, as I just learned from blog reader Andreas P. (thanks for that).

The disruption has already started tonight and continues so far. Users cannot log on to Outlook on the web, although this only affects users who are not currently logged on to Outlook on the web and have not cached it.

On the Twitter channels of Azure and Office365 I found nothing about the malfunction. According to the status messages, the cause is a configuration update for the HTTP proxy (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) carried out by Microsoft in the cloud, which contained a bug (called a code error by Microsoft). The team is currently rolling out a correction update. Below are some extracts from ongoing status messages. Anyone affected?

Status messages from Microsoft Admin Dashboard

Here is an extract of the status messages from the dashboard, which is only accessible for admins (thanks to Andreas for the extract).
