Chrome 81.0.4044.138 with critical security fixes released

[German]Google released the update to Chrome 81.0.4044.138 on May 5 , 2020. It is a security update which closes 3 critical vulnerabilities in Chrome browser for Linux, macOS and Windows.

Google has published this blog post about Chrome 81.0.4044.138. I became aware of it via the following tweet.  

The security update fixes three critical vulnerabilities in Google's Chrome browser. Here is an extract of critical vulnerabilities:

  • [1073602] High CVE-2020-6831: Stack buffer overflow in SCTP. Reported by Natalie Silvanovich of Google Project Zero on 2020-04-22
  • [1071059] High CVE-2020-6464: Type Confusion in Blink. Reported by Looben Yang on 2020-04-15

Other vulnerabilities were found internally by Google. The Chrome version 81.0.4044.138 for Windows, Mac and Linux will be rolled out in the next days via the automatic update function. You can also download this build here. (via)
