[German]Piriform has released CCleaner version 5.70 with a bug fix after the CCleaner version 5.69 cleaning tool had a fat problem with deleted Firefox extensions.

Issues with CCleaner Version 5.69
Mozilla's developers have implemented a synchronization of extension settings in Firefox version 79 and higher via a user account. If you log on to your Firefox account, the extensions and other data are synchronized with all devices. This concerns "items that store extensions in this area (Storage.sync)".
The problem: Version 5.69 of CCleaner deletes this extension data from Firefox 79, affecting "storage-sync-v2.sqlite-shm" and "storage-sync-v2.sqlite-wal". I had reported extensively in the blog postBug: CCleaner 5.69 deletes files from Firefox extensions about this issue.
Bug Fix with CCleaner Version 5.70
Already on August 6, 2020, I received a statement from AVAST from the 'consulting communications agency', which referred to the reporting of the current CCleaner/Firefox problem. The statement from Avast read:
"Due to a new memory synchronization recently implemented by Mozilla in Firefox 79, the current version of CCleaner deletes preference data in Firefox extensions. Users first pointed this out to us in early July. Although we are always trying to respond to all feedback, we regret that we did not act as quickly as usual on this issue. We are in contact with Mozilla to resolve this as soon as possible."
And in the blog post on the subject, blog reader EP posted the following note: v5.70 of CCleaner has just been released, guenni and there was a link to this Piriform page. I also saw the following tweet from Piriform.

Important information for Firefox users
If you use Firefox with a Firefox account, we strongly recommend that you update CCleaner to version 5.70 before cleaning. This version of CCleaner fixes an issue that can cause extension settings to be lost in Firefox.
The complete changelog to CCleaner v5.70 may be found here. The blog post also contains a link to download the new version.
Remarks on the CCleaner
Cleaner is a free tool for cleaning up Windows – Wikipedia writes here about 'optimization'. Some hints on what is 'cleaned and optimized' can be found under Askvg. I don't like this part (I've met too many people in forums who have used it to clean their systems to the breaking point) and see CCleaner more as a kind of snake oil (not really necessary, but the tool is very popular among users).

The days I had only the post Windows Defender flags CCleaner as PUP – Part 1 here in the blog. Microsoft has blocked the tool in Windows Defender because its installer is bundled with unwanted software (AVAST Antivirus etc.). According to the latest information, the CCleaner is no longer blocked as Potentially Unwanted Application (PUA) in Windows Defender. BTW: A review of CCleaner may be found here.
