Firefox 106.0.5 released

Mozilla[German]After publishing Firefox version 105.0.4 on November 3, 2022, the Mozilla developers still released the 106.0.5 version of the Firefox browser on November 4, 2022 (thanks to the user for pointing it out).

This is another maintenance update, which according to the release notes had to be pushed later to fix a crash that occurred for users with Intel Gemini Lake CPUs. Firefox should update automatically, but can be checked for new versions via the Help menu and About Firefox. In addition, the browser can be downloaded from this website for various platforms (the variant is to be selected via the displayed list boxes).

The frequency of these updates is pretty high.

Don't know if this has anything to do with it, but had a heckuva time with the previous version and a WiFi protocol issue that popped up soon after; had to do a lot of hair-pulling networking gyrations to get the laptop back online…
