[German]Mozilla’s developers has released version 58.0.2 of the Firefox browser for Windows, macOS and Linux on February 7, 2018 (thanks to Christoph W. for pointing this out in the early morning).
[German]Users of the Firefox browser on Linux, macOS and Windows should urgently upgrade (their desktop version) to version 58.0.1. Older versions (with the exception of Firefox 52 ESR and Firefox for Android) have a critical vulnerability.
[German]The Mozilla foundation has released Firefox version 57 – aka Firefox Quantum – mid of November 2017. Now they are providing a bug fix and security update, shifting the browser to version 57.0.1.
Mozilla’s developers has released Firefox version 56.0.2 on October 26, 2017 in Release Channel. The changelog lists only minor bug fixes. The Firefox installer may be downloaded from this Firefox page. (via)

Mozilla has issued a security update for Firefox browser – and also the Tor anonymity project has issued a security update for it’s Firefox browser. This update closes a zero-day-vulnerability under Windows.
A publicly released exploit (zero-day exploit) works against many Firefox browser versions – and put Tor users (and possibly other Firefox users) at risk. Officials at Tor has confirmed the vulnerability, no Firefox patch is available yet.
