[English]Brief information for WhatsApp users among our readers who use the app on iOS. On Saturday, December 9, 2023, there was an update to version 2.23.25.76. However, this app version is blatantly buggy and shatters the WhatsApp functions – a downgrade is probably not possible. So, if you haven't already installed it, don't update.

Blog reader Ralf M. informed me about the problem this afternoon (thanks for that) and wrote: Maybe something for the blog. You reach a lot of readers. Please do not install the update to 2.23.25.76 from Saturday, 09.12.20223 for iOS (iPhone devices) under any circumstances.
According to Ralf, the problem with this version is that you can only add images/documents/videos directly in the open app. If you are somewhere outside the app, whether in Safari, Files etc., it is no longer possible to add this to the WhatsApp message using the Share button.
According to Ralf, some users also have the problem that no more push notifications appear on the lock screen, regardless of whether the app is open in the background or not. Information about new messages only appears when the app is opened again. Ralf comments on this: However, this problem has been occurring since an older version, but of course now comes particularly well with the new bug.
Ralf notes in his email that there are already some entries in the ratings and reviews (I can't access these ratings in the browser without an iOS device). According to Ralf, it is unfortunately not possible to downgrade the app. So if you haven't updated the app yet, you should wait for a bug fix to avoid running into the problem.

Ralf told me that he had immediately informed the WhatsApp support about the issue via the help system. But the response from WhatsApp support was sobering:
"Hi,
Thanks for your message.
Unfortunately, this issue is out of the scope of support that WhatsApp can provide.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. We'll be happy to help!"
So it fits – and WhatsApp is overrated anyway. Anyone affected by the errors described above?
