[German]Owners of ASUS computers that appear to be formally compatible with Windows 11 24H2 will still not receive the feature upgrade. In the spirit of "the unexpected often happens", Microsoft has discovered that installation is failing on some devices from the manufacturer ASUS. Redmond has therefore set an upgrade blocker until the problem is resolved.

Windows 11 24H2 issues
Windows 11 24H2 was made available to interested users as a feature update on October 1, 2024 (see Windows 11 24H released (Oktober 1, 2024)). For the "early birds" among the users, numerous bugs appear after this release, which somewhat impair the "Windows 11 24H2 experience". The links at the end of the post refer to articles here in the blog that describe the individual bugs. For me as a blogger, it's "the topics never run out".
Installation issues on ASUS computers
In addition to the camera problem described in the article Windows 11 24H2: Apps no longer respond when using the camera, Microsoft has added another bug to the list of known problems with Windows 11 24H2 as of October 18, 2024. The support article Some ASUS devices might fail to install Windows 11, version 24H2 can be found on the Windows 11 24H2 Health Status page.
In the support article, Microsoft confirms that the installation of the new operating system (possibly as a feature update) is causing problems for some ASUS devices, particularly the X415KA and X515KA models. This manifests itself in the fact that a blue screen may appear on the device during the update process, meaning that the installation of Windows 11 version 24H2 cannot be completed successfully.
Microsoft has therefore set a compatibility lock for the device models affected by this problem. These devices will not be offered the installation of Windows 11, version 24H2, via the Windows Update Release Channel. IT administrators in corporate environments using Windows Update for Business reports can check this issue under the protection ID 54157480.
This issue has since been identified by Microsoft in collaboration with ASUS and is related to compatibility with certain hardware components in these models.

ASUS and Microsoft developers are working on a solution and will provide more information as it becomes available. Microsoft advises that users should not attempt to manually update to Windows 11 version 24H2 using the Windows 11 installation wizard or media creation tool on affected ASUS models and should wait until this issue is resolved.
