[German]Microsoft has confirmed that Copilot will be uninstalled on some Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems as a result of the March 2025 updates. Those affected should install Copilot from the Store. However, I am currently not really sure whether this affects European users at all or whether readers are using Copilot on Windows 11 and are affected.

Windows 10 / 11 March 2025 Updates
On March 11, 2025, Microsoft released various cumulative (security) updates for Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 11 22H2 to Windows 11 24H2 (see Patchday: Windows 10/11 Updates (March 11, 2025)).
The improvements made by the cumulative (security) update KB5053598 for Windows 11 24H2 are described, for example, in the support article of the preview update KB5052093 from February 28, 2025.
This fixes a problem in Open Secure Shell (OpenSSH) and a bug in Hyper-V. RDP display problems should also be fixed – although I have published the German article Windows 11: März 2025-Updates verursachen Probleme mit RDP-Verbindungen.
Cumulative update KB5053602 was also released for Windows 11 22H2 – 23H2 and cumulative update KB5053606 was released for Windows 10 22H2. At the time my blog post on the patchday was written, Microsoft had only documented known issues with Robox and Citrix in the known issues of the updates (e.g. for update KB5053598).
Addendum about Copilot uninstallation
There are now user reports that Microsoft Copilot has been uninstalled in Windows 11 as a result of the March 2025 updates and that the icon has been removed from the taskbar. Microsoft itself has confirmed this for Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 11 22H2 – 24H2. I only noticed this when I came across the following post the other day.

Windows Latest has taken up the issue in the article Microsoft: Windows 11 March 2025 update bug deletes Copilot app, unpins from the taskbar. The editors of Windows Latest have noticed that Microsoft has recently updated the support page for update KB5053598 and the other updates mentioned above. There is a new entry for Copilot in the Known issues section.
Microsoft confirms that it has received reports of issues with Microsoft Copilot. The Copilot app has been unintentionally uninstalled on some systems and Copilot icon has been removed from the taskbar. This entry has been added to Microsoft's all support articles for Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 11 22H2 – 24H2. It probably only affects the Copilot app that was rolled out with Windows 10 and Windows 11, not the Microsoft 365 Copilot app.
Microsoft developers are working on a solution to this problem. Microsoft suggests a workaround for anyone who lost the Copilot app as part of the March 2025 Patchday update is to simply install a new app from the Microsoft Store and then pin it to the taskbar. Have any of our readers been affected by this issue?
