Microsoft investigats Autostart bug on the Chromium Edge

Edge[German]The new Chromium Edge has an exotic bug that causes the browser to autostart. Microsoft has begun investigating this bug and is asking the community for their help.

In the blog post Known Issue – Microsoft Edge Launching on Startup Microsoft addresses the issue. 

The issue

The Edge Auto Launch issue was brought to Microsoft through the community. Some versions of Microsoft Edge may start automatically when the user starts the PC or logs in to Windows. This is independent of the settings in:

edge://settings/onStartup

It is currently not known whether this error is associated with changes in browser behavior.

Microsoft is asking for help from affected parties

It seems to be a very exotic mistake. In the blog post Known Issue – Microsoft Edge Launching on Startup, Microsoft asks the affected users for active assistance. The blog post explains which commands are required to enable logging. These log files should be submitted to the Feedback Hub. (via)
