Windows[German]It's the beginning of February 2025 and Statcounter's figures on operating system distribution on the desktop are available for January 2025. So what about the figures for Microsoft Windows distribution on the desktop? Windows 10 will no longer be supported in October 2025, so for many users, Windows 11 is the only option.

Windows 10 is probably still the workhorse on desktop systems and is likely to remain so in the coming months. As for the "big run" on Copilot+PC AI systems, I can't say at the moment – The Register looks at market outlooks here. Microsoft has seen a slight increase in revenue from Windows licenses, but the PC market doesn't seem to have really taken off with Windows 11 yet.
