[German]There has been an update to FSLogix version 25.09. Feedback from readers suggests that this fixes the error [58tm1] that frequently occurs in Outlook 365. In addition, the OneDrive bug in Windows Server 2019 that prevented folders from being renamed has reportedly been fixed. Neither error is documented in the FSLogix release notes, so I am highlighting this information separately in a post.
FSLogix 25.09
FSLogix is a software solution that enables the management of user profiles and application deployments in environments such as Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and Citrix. FSLogix packs the entire profile into a VHD or VHDX and then provides this file from the server when logging in. The developer was acquired by Microsoft in 2024.
FSLogix 25.09 was released on September 9, 2025, with the release notes listing several bug fixes. However, there is no indication that the errors mentioned below have been eliminated by the new release.
Fix for Microsoft 365: Outlook error [58tm1]
For months, administrators and users have been annoyed by the error "Something didn't work [58tm1]" shown in the screenshot below.
Afterwards, these users can no longer log into Outlook 365. I first addressed this error in February 2025 in the blog post Microsoft 365: Outlook Error [58tm1] and provided a workaround. In recent weeks, readers have posted comments complaining about the error reappearing in Microsoft 365, e.g., on terminal servers.
On September 25, 2025, German blog reader Matthias posted this comment (thanks for that) and wrote, "With the new FSlogix version, the error no longer occurs in my farm. No changes were made to the system." Blog reader K1ngB0rA confirmed in this comment (thanks) that updating to the new FSLogix version 25.09 seems to have fixed the problem on his RDS farm. Can anyone else confirm this?
Windows Server 2019 OneDrive bug fixed
There is another bug in a completely different area that appears to have been fixed by FSLogix version 25.09. A few days ago, I posted the article Windows Server 2019: OneDrive issue related to FSLogix here on the blog. An administrator contacted me because he was having serious problems with OneDrive on Windows Server 2019.
When FSLogix is used in conjunction with Windows Server 2019, files and folders in OneDrive cannot be renamed after they have been created. Renaming is rejected with an error message stating that the object no longer exists (see screenshot below).
Renaming via Powershell/CMD does not work either. Blog reader PB writes in this comment (thank you) that the problem could be solved by updating to FSLogix version 25.09.
