Office 2016/2019 will lose access to Microsoft 365 starting October 2023

[German]Microsoft Office users may face some unpleasant surprise in 2023. From April 2023, support for Office 2013 will end – but more importantly, from October 2023, the ability to access services for Microsoft 365 from Microsoft Office 2016 and 2019 ends. Exchange Online can then no longer be used, for example.

Does Google want to make it easier to select the Chrome browser as the default browser in Windows 10/11?

Windows Server 20H2 reaches end of support in August 2022

Windows[German]Another short announcement at the end of the month, which I'm not sure will reach anyone else in the readership. Microsoft Windows Server 20H2 will receive security updates for the last time on August 9, 2022, i.e. in a few days, and will then be removed from Microsoft's support. Anyone still running such an installation would therefore have to update to a successor version.

Intel GPU driver updates for 6th-10th gen CPUs only for security issues

Windows[German]Intel once again makes a cut on July 27, 2022 and declares graphics drivers for graphic units of older CPUs as obsolete. On this date, all graphics drivers for GPUs of Intel processors of generations 6 to 10 will be removed from the regular update process. These graphics drivers should only receive security updates in case of serious vulnerabilities.

Windows 10 22H2: Insider Preview Update KB5015684 and release date hints

Windows[German]Microsoft will also release a feature update for Windows 10 to version 22H2 in the second half of 2022. Now, the update KB5015684 is available as a preview for Windows Insiders in the Release Preview Channel to unlock the new version on Windows 10 21H2. Microsoft is thus releasing the preview for enterprises to test. And there are speculations that Windows 10 22H2 could be released in late September 2022.
