AnyDesk hack: Revoke chaos with old certificates? – Part 11

Sicherheit (Pexels, allgemeine Nutzung)[German]Now that it is clear that the provider of remote maintenance software, AnyDesk, was the victim of a hack of its production environment in December 2023, a certificate change for the digital signing of AnyDesk clients is pending. According to my current observations, it is heading towards a "revoke chaos" – from Feb. 14, 2024, the old certificate of "philandro Software GmbH" will be invalid. Clients new signed with this old certificate should then no longer be able to run. By the way, have you noticed that the phrase "the hack took place at the end of December 2023" has also been canceled and is now referred to as "December 2023"?

Free vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi 7.x and 8.x) End of General Availability

[German]The shakeout of VMware products continues. It was already expected, but on February 12, 2024, VMware by Broadcom announced that the free ESXi Free hypervisor in versions 7.x and 8.x would no longer be available. This is the logical consequence of the discontinuation of all products with purchase licenses that could not be converted to annual subscriptions. This means that the ESXi Server Free can no longer be used for virtualization test environments.

Windows[German]Somehow Microsoft doesn't seem to be happy with the response from users who are voluntarily upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I've come across a new report that Microsoft is annoying Windows 10 users with Windows 11-compatible hardware with a series of redesigned pop-up windows asking them to upgrade to Windows 11.
