Hyper-V vTPM certificates: VM export and migration

Windows[German]A TMP platform module (vTPM) is required for the virtualization of Windows 11 or Windows Server 2025. The Hyper-V virtualization platform included in Windows allows vTPN and other options to be configured. However, the problem is when such a VM is moved and the vTPM certificates break. I have just come across an article from Microsoft that deals with this issue.

Excel freezes and slow opening/closing due to Trend Micro

[German]Users are complaining that since the June 2025 updates, Microsoft Excel has been causing problems and freezes on startup or is very slow to open and close. The cause may be Trend Micro version 6.7.3981/14.3.1311.

ReFS file system: Fix for CPU/RAM utilization bug in Windows Server 2025 in August 2025?

Windows[German]In Windows Server 2025, there is a problem that ReFS-formed disks lead to high CPU/RAM utilization, so that the server becomes unusable over time and has to be restarted. There are now indications that this bug will be fixed by an update in August 2025.

Windows 10/11: RemovableStorageDevice Blocking GPO is broken

Windows[German]A German blog reader has informed me that the RemovableStorageDevice blocking GPI is broken in Windows 10 and 11 . USB device control via GPO simply no longer works since the April 2025 patchday. This has been confirmed by Microsoft, a fix is in the works. I'll post the information here in the blog in case other administrators stumble across the issue.

Microsoft blocks virus scanners from kernel access – just a marketing gag?

Windows[German]At the end of June 2025, there were reports (at least that's how I interpreted them) that virus scanners would "soon" no longer be allowed to use the Windows kernel mode. According to Microsoft, the CrowdStrike case, which paralyzed millions of Windows systems, was the final warning to take this step. The question now is whether we are experiencing a paradigm shift or whether it is a deceptive package and what is behind it all.
