When ransomware groups (AlphV) snitch on victims to the SEC

The ransomware group AlphV (also known as BlackCat) has made a new volte face in the field of extortion. As of November 15, 2023, the cybercriminals have filed a complaint against their victim MeridianLink with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for failing to report a security incident to the SEC.

Attack on critical infrastructure in Denmark; 22 utilities compromised in May 2023

Sicherheit (Pexels, allgemeine Nutzung)[German]In May 2023, there were probably two waves of cyberattacks on critical infrastructure (KRITIS) in Denmark, as has only now become known. In a report published by SektorCERT, the whole thing is described as the largest known cyberattack on Danish critical infrastructure. In the two waves of attacks, 22 energy companies from Denmark were compromised. The focus was on vulnerabilities in Zyxel devices (firewalls), some of which could be exploited as 0-day.

New Outlook app: Microsoft's statement on transferred credentials and content

[German]After it became public knowing, that the new Outlook app transmits access data for mail accounts (credentials and content) to Microsoft,  Redmond has now explained the issue to German news site heise and made some statements. Windows 10/11: Microsoft investigates activation problems with Windows 7/8.1 keys

Windows[German]Some users of Windows 10 or Windows 11 may have activation problems if these operating systems were originally activated with a Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 key. These are systems that were previously activated but have suddenly lost this activation due to BIOS updates or hardware changes and can no longer be activated. This behavior is not intentional and Microsoft is currently investigating why these effects occur.
