[German]Mozilla developers have released versions 103.0.1 of the Firefox browser on August 1, 2022. This is a maintenance update that is supposed to fix bugs.

[German]The developers of the Google Chrome browser are discussing simplifying the mechanism for selecting the default browser on Windows. A simple mouse click on a button should be enough in the future, instead of chasing the user into the settings under Windows 10/11, as was the case until now. [German]Another short announcement at the end of the month, which I'm not sure will reach anyone else in the readership. Microsoft Windows Server 20H2 will receive security updates for the last time on August 9, 2022, i.e. in a few days, and will then be removed from Microsoft's support. Anyone still running such an installation would therefore have to update to a successor version.
[German]On July 26, 2022, U.S. managed service provider NetStandard was arguably the victim of a successful cyberattack. The attack resulted in the company having to shut down its MyAppsAnywhere cloud services, consisting of hosted Dynamics GP, Exchange, Sharepoint and CRM services, to prevent further damage.
[German]Amazon is discontinuing its online storage and cloud service Amazon Drive for customers for 11 years. That's according to an email that affected Amazon customers must have received. However, the end is not until December 31, 2023.
[German]Intel once again makes a cut on July 27, 2022 and declares graphics drivers for graphic units of older CPUs as obsolete. On this date, all graphics drivers for GPUs of Intel processors of generations 6 to 10 will be removed from the regular update process. These graphics drivers should only receive security updates in case of serious vulnerabilities.
