[German]Microsoft has supported IPv6 in Exchange Online for outgoing email for some time now and also prefers this for data traffic. In a Techcommunity post dated October 30, 2024, the Microsoft team has now summarized the changes to IPv6 support in Exchange Online in an update.
[German]Addendum from the October 2024 patchday (8.10.2024). The KB5044281 update for Windows Server 2022 (21H2) may cause problems with failover clusters. A reader has left a comment in the blog that the remote desktop services in his environment are being destroyed – at least in a failover cluster, as a German blog reader reported.

[German]International law enforcement agencies from the Netherlands, the United States, Belgium, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Australia have shut down three servers in the Netherlands and seized two domains linked to the infostealers Redline and Meta as part of Operation Magnus. In addition, charges were brought in the United States and two people were taken into custody in Belgium.
[German]Microsoft has generally released Inbound SMTP DANE with DNSSEC for Exchange Online, after it was already available as a preview in July 2024. The new Inbound SMTP DANE with DNSSEC function in Exchange Online is intended to increase the security of email communication by supporting two security standards.

Microsoft is pushing Copilot onto the market and the user community. There's even "Copilot for teachers" in schools. On the other hand, I have heard critical statements that question the whole AI hype and see – at least what Microsoft is doing – as a mistake. The boss of Salesforce sees Copilot as the "new Clippy", with which Satya Nadella and his staff are burning a lot of money. A nice topic that I'll take a look at.

[German]Since October 25, 2024, there seems to be a fault with Microsoft Exchange (on-premises), which means that the Outlook app for iOS no longer performs synchronization. I have received a user report and the problem is being discussed on the internet. Are there any others affected?
A little nostalgic look back for the older members of the blog readership. Do you still remember the year 1993 and the PCs of that time? And did any of you play the game DOOM – available as shareware at the time?
[German]I'm catching up on a brief piece of information that I've already had for a few days. Microsoft has already announced on October 8, 2024 that it will no longer support the two protocols PPTP and L2TP VPN in future Windows Server versions. Both protocols have been declared as deprecated.
[German]Brief addendum on the subject of security and malware risks. I have had the malware report for September 2024 from security provider Check Point since mid-October 2024. Windows systems in Germany were probably particularly affected by the Formbook malware. The infostealer replaced CloudEye as the most active malware in this country and accounted for a full 21 percent of all infections. In addition, the transportation sector was again increasingly targeted by hackers. Here is a brief overview.
