Windows 11 24H2: Apps no longer respond when using the camera

Windows[German]Brief addition to the series of problems with Windows 11 24H2, freshly released on October 1, 2024. Anyone using the camera on a system with this operating system runs the risk of other apps no longer working. This can affect, for example, logging in using Windows Hello. Microsoft confirmed this overnight (October 18, 2024) on its status page.

Vehicle appraisals from Dekra and TÜV Rheinland available on the Internet

A reader has informed me that reduced value reports from TÜV Rheinland and Dekra inspectors are freely available on the Internet. It is therefore very easy to see when which vehicle was returned with which defects at the end of the leasing contract. Includes vehicle data and also personal data of the assessor. I reported the matter to the relevant data protection authorities in August, but nothing happened, so I am now disclosing it.

Windows 11 24H2: Microsoft confirms wrong display in disk cleanup

Trouble with the new Outlook app: forced update and sluggish behavior?

[German]Quickly asked about the status of the switch to the new Outlook app. There is an indication that the last Windows 10 update from October 2024 will carry out a forced update. Windows October 2024 updates cause OpenSSH issues

The cumulative update also updates OpenSSH for Windows, which can lead to various problems. Users of Yubikey appear to be affected by this update, as has been reported.

Microsoft lost log data from security products in the cloud …

There is a report of a bug with Microsoft's cloud services that means that log files from security products in the Microsoft cloud have not been saved reliably. Some log files appear to be lost forever. This could prevent threat detection for Microsoft's cloud customers – which in turn raises security concerns about the reliability of Microsoft as a company and its cloud services.
