[German]The vulnerability CVE-2024-5806 was recently discovered in the Progress MOVEit Transfer software. Attacks on the CVE-2024-5806 vulnerability were observed shortly after this information was published. This brings back bad memories of a MOVEit Transfer vulnerability through which hundreds of companies were hacked by a gang of cyber criminals.
[German]A Microsoft software developer has accidentally shared internal PlayReady source code with the public (a developer forum). The data leak of 4 GByte is sufficient to compile the required DLL from the source code. This could be a real boon for people who want to reverse engineering or crack PlayReady.
[German]No idea how many users the E2E-encrypted and, according to its own information, GDPR-compliant storage service Imternxt has, and how many blog readers are affected. Blog reader Lars Hendrik had received 2 GB of free online storage there. There were even various promotions to get up to 10 GB of online storage. This is now all being downgraded to 1 GB.
[German]In Windows, there are always problems with printers no longer being found or no longer working after updates. I have published numerous articles on this topic in different variations on the blog. A blog reader contacted me because he sees a single reason for the various printer problems in the network. [German]Small addendum from last week. It has been known since the middle of the month that the vulnerability CVE-2024-34102 exists in Adobe Commerce and Magento online stores. Together with a Linux vulnerability, thousands of stores can be taken over by attackers. A fix has been available for a few days, but the majority of online stores are still running unpatched versions.
[German]Using JAVA? Then you should be prepared for Oracle knocking on your door and wanting to talk about license fees. Top 200 companies have already faced an audit where Oracle checked the "license per user" and made additional demands if necessary. This is set to increase over the next 6 to 9 months. And Oracle is probably tracking down users who are using JAVA without licenses.

[German]A heavy blow to antivirus provider Kaspersky. The US government has banned its software in the USA and the product may no longer be sold. And updates may soon no longer be supplied either. In addition, twelve senior Kaspersky employees have been sanctioned.
