Officially, Microsoft calls this a "Windows configuration update". The feature drop update provides a range of new functions on these Windows 11 versions.

These preview updates for this version were actually due to expire in February 2024, as Windows 11 23H2 is now available. Due to "overwhelming" feedback from its users, these preview updates will be provided for 4 months or even until summer 2025 in certain versions.
