[German]Is unpatched FortiGate firewalls creating a new cyber risk? Experts are sounding the alarm because something like 70% of FortiGate firewalls are vulnerable to attack via the critical CVE-2023-27997 vulnerability. More than 336,000 servers are reported to be unprotected through the firewall (e.g. via VPN) as a result. Fortinet has already closed the vulnerability in its FortiGate firewalls in June 2023 through firmware updates. However, this did not reach the administrators, also due to poor communication.

[German]Japan's largest overseas port in the city of Nagoya has fallen victim to a ransomware attack (probably from Lockbit 3.0). The NUTS IT system, which is used at all of the port's container terminals, has not worked since July 4, 2023 (Independence Day in the US). However, operators say they are optimistic they will have the IT back up and running for the port's operations by next Thursday (6/7). Addendum: They are back in operation.

[German]Was there a successful hack at Microsoft in which the group Anonymous Sudan was able to pull data from 30 million customer accounts? The group claimed this yesterday, but Microsoft consistently denies it, saying there is no proof. What is known, however, is that the Anonymous Sudan data group claimed an attack on the Microsoft cloud, and Microsoft confirmed that cloud service outages in recent weeks were due to DDoS attacks.
