Adobe asks Creative Cloud user for an additional Pantone subscription to use Pantone Color books

[German]Users who use Pantone color palettes (color charts) in files created with Adobe products will need a subscription to Pantone when using Adobe Creative Cloud in the future. Otherwise, only black colors will be displayed in corresponding documents, because Adobe has removed the relevant color libraries from Pantone from its products. The background to this is a licensing issue with Pantone, who are suddenly charging Adobe $21 per month in licensing fees per customer. Adobe is passing this on to users.

Windows 10: Microsoft disables Internet Explorer 11 on Feb. 14, 2023

[German]Another brief piece of information about Windows 10 and Internet Explorer 11: On February 14, 2023 (patch day), Microsoft will automatically deactivate Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 10 if the browser is still active there. From this date on, calls to Internet Explorer 11 will be redirected to Microsoft Edge.

WordPress 6.1 released

WordPress developers have released version 6.1 of the software on November 1, 2022. In this version, mainly additions were made to the editor, and there is a new theme. The details of what's new can be read here. After update I'm facing issues publishing articles within my multisite blog using Windows Live Writer – the "wrong password" error. Haven't found the reason.

Windows PowerShell backdoor discovered, mimicking as part of Windows Update process

Windows[German]Security researchers from SafeBreach recently came across a previously unknown PowerShell backdoor in Windows. This uses a malicious Word document to inject the PowerShell scripts. The backdoor can list Active Directory users and remote desktops, and is presumably intended to allow network propagation at a later date.

Edge 107.0.1418.26 and 106.0.1370.61 fixes CVE-2022-3723

Edge[German]Microsoft has updated the Edge browser in the stable channel to version 107.0.1418.26 as of October 29, 2022. This is a security update that fixes the CVE-2022-3723 vulnerability (Type Confusion in the V8 JavaScript engine). In addition, the Edge browser in the Extended Stable Channel has been updated to 106.0.1370.61 to fix the same vulnerability. Continue reading
