Windows Family Safety: Confirmed, that it's blocking Chrome

[German]Since the beginning of June 2025, users have been complaining that they can no longer use the Google Chrome browser if Microsoft Family Safety is installed on Windows. Citrix Vulnerability CVE-2025-5777: Is Citrix Bleed Part 2 back?

Last week I had reported on serious vulnerabilities on Citrix products mentioned above that should be closed promptly by patching. Now Citrix has changed the description of CVE-2025-5777, the vulnerability (CVSS 9.3) is even more critical than expected. Citrix Bleed 2 is virtually back and unpatched instances are extremely vulnerable.

Windows 10/11: Preview Updates June 2025

Windows[German]Microsoft has released optional, cumulative (preview) updates for Windows on June 24, 2025. There is currently only one preview update KB5058481 for Windows 10 22H2. These updates contain corrections that can be tested and are then generally rolled out as fixes in the following month.

Google ends Chrome support for Android 8 and 9

[German]Google developers will soon discontinue support for the Chrome browser app for Android 8.0 (Oreo) and Android 9.0 (Pie). Chrome 138 is the last version of Chrome that will support Android 8.0 (Oreo) and Android 9.0 (Pie). Chrome 139 (tentatively scheduled for release on August 5, 2025) is the first version of Chrome that requires Android 10.0 or higher, according to this blog post. Chrome app updates will only be available on Android 10.0 in the future. However, the Chrome app will continue to work on Android 8.0 and 9.0.(via)

Windows 11 24H2 Configuration Update KB5062324 fixes Update Seach Bug

Windows[German]A few days ago, Microsoft published the configuration update KB5062324 for Windows 11 24H2. The update should be offered for installation when searching in Windows Update. It fixes a problem where the search in Windows Updates no longer responds. A permanent fix for the bug is included in the preview update released on end of May 2025 (KB5058499) and later updates. Microsoft 365 blocks old authentication protocols from mid-June 2025

[German]I'll pull out a topic in a post that I came across recently. Microsoft is trying to increase the security of MS 365. To this end, "Secure by default settings" for outdated authentication protocols will be introduced in Microsoft 365 from mid-July 2025. Administrators must take this into account.
