Fix for broken Windows 10 'Reset PC' feature

[English]Microsoft has now finally officially confirmed that the bug in the Reset PC function under Windows 10 versions 1903 and 1909 has been fixed. The bug has been known since February 2020 and was first addressed by Microsoft in October 2020 with a workaround.

Tor Browser 10.0.8 released

Sicherheit[German]The developers of the Tor Bundle have released Tor Browser 10.0.8 as a package for Linux, macOS and Windows on January 12, 2021. The update updates Firefox to version 78.6.1esr (closes a vulnerability) and NoScript to 11.1.7. On macOS, bug 40262: Browser tabs crashing on the new Macbooks with the M1 chip [tor-browser] has been fixed. Tor Browser 10.0.8 is available for free via the download page for various platforms.

Windows 10: Vulnerability allows to destroy NTFS media content

[German]There is a previously unpatched vulnerability in the implementation of the NTFS file system used by Windows 10. Via this vulnerability, it is possible for attackers to destroy the contents of an NTFS volume used under Windows 10. It is enough to place an appropriately crafted file on an NTFS volume to trigger the flaw. A security researcher has now pointed this out for the umpteenth time.

SolarLeaks allegedly offers source code from Cisco, Microsoft and SolarWinds

[German]A website called SolarLeaks offers source code allegedly captured from the Solarburst backdoor attacks in SolarWinds Orion products at Cisco, Microsoft, and SolarWinds. However, these could be copycats. In addition, a third malware, SunBurst, was discovered on SolarWinds' build systems. It was through the malware that the supply chain attack took place.
