[German]On March 10, 2026, Microsoft released security updates for Windows clients and servers, Office, and other products. The security updates address 83 vulnerabilities (CVEs), 8 of which are critical, and 2 of which were classified as zero-day vulnerabilities. Below is a brief overview of these updates, which were released on Patch Day.

Microsoft announced on March 4, 2026, that it had improved Windows Server 2025 and Windows 11 24H2 with regard to GPP (Group Policy Preferences) diagnostics. With the January 2026 updates, the event viewer provides significantly more information for entries in Windows 11—this feature is expected to follow later for Windows Server 2025.
[German]Quick note for Google Chrome browser users. On March 3, 2026, Google released a new version of Chrome (145.0.7632.159/160) that fixes 10 vulnerabilities in the browser. Three of these vulnerabilities have already been rated as critical. Google plans to roll out the new version in stages.
[German]Microsoft has re-released update KB5075039 (Windows Recovery Environment update) for Windows 10 once again on March 3, 2026. It is a WinRE patch that is intended to provide Windows 10, which fell out of support in October 2025, with a working recovery environment again. Here is some brief information on the matter.

[German]A brief update on a topic that caused quite a stir here on the blog in early February 2026, but was then quietly resolved by Microsoft on February 25, 2026. The issue was that Microsoft will be using Mopria printer drivers in Windows 11 and subsequent OS versions in the future. However, Windows 11 will continue to support older drivers.
[German]Security researchers at Check Point Research have identified critical vulnerabilities (CVE-2025-59536, CVE-2026-21852) in Anthropic's AI-based coding tool "Claude Code." These vulnerabilities allowed remote code execution and the theft of API credentials. This is critical because attackers could abuse built-in mechanisms such as hooks, Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, and environment variables. Attackers could execute arbitrary shell commands and exfiltrate API keys when developers cloned and opened untrusted projects. Beyond launching the tool, no further action was required by the user.
[German]A quick note for people who use the Microsoft Authenticator app on an iPhone or Android device. Microsoft has announced that, as of February 24, 2026, it will first warn and then block EntraID logins on devices with jailbreak (iOS) or root access (Android) and finally delete the data. This change will be implemented gradually and is expected to be completed by mid-2026.

[German]A few days ago, I reported that Mozilla Firefox 115 ESR would be discontinued on Windows 7/8.1. Now, Firefox 115.33.0 ESR has been released as the last update for these operating systems. Mozilla has also released Firefox 148.0 with AI Killswitch. And there is an update to Firefox 140.8 ESR.
