[German]Users who have updated their compatible devices to Windows 11 24H2 may suffer from crashes if NVMe SSDs from Western Digital and Sandisk are installed. Both SSD manufacturers have now released firmware updates to prevent these crashes of the new operating system.
[German]On October 8, 2024, Microsoft released the cumulative update KB5044273 for Windows 10 22H2. With this update, shortcuts have been given a new tab. However, this change leads to memory errors when displaying the shortcut properties in certain constellations.
[German]Owners of ASUS computers that appear to be formally compatible with Windows 11 24H2 will still not receive the feature upgrade. In the spirit of "the unexpected often happens", Microsoft has discovered that installation is failing on some devices from the manufacturer ASUS. Redmond has therefore set an upgrade blocker until the problem is resolved.

[German]I am once again posting an unpleasant data breach on the blog that affects lessees in Europe. A reader has informed me that reduced value reports from TÜV Rheinland and Dekra inspectors are freely available on the Internet. It is therefore very easy to see when which vehicle was returned with which defects at the end of the leasing contract. Includes vehicle data and also personal data of the assessor. I reported the matter to the relevant data protection authorities in August, but nothing happened, so I am now disclosing it.
[German]An unpleasant story happened at German online retailer brillen.de. Due to a configuration error, the data of 3.5 million European customers was openly available on the Internet. It was therefore possible to see who had bought glasses there. Following a report, the provider quietly closed the leak.
[German]In Windows 11 24H2, Disk Management displays a data area of approx. 8.3 GB that was left over from the installation but cannot be deleted. Microsoft has now confirmed that this data area is displayed incorrectly and cannot be deleted.
