Preview Updates for Windows 7/8.1/Server Nov. 27, 2018

[German]On November 27, 2018, Microsoft released the (security) preview update KB4467108 for Windows 7 SP1 and the update KB4467695 for Windows 8.1 as well as the corresponding server versions. Here is an overview of these updates.

Microsoft has released the 'Microsoft Security Compliance Toolkit 1.0'. That's a set of tools for enterprise security administrators, that allows to establish a security configuration baseline for Windows and other Microsoft products.

Windows 10 V1809: New Updates in Release Preview Ring

Microsoft is currently testing Updates KB4469342 V2 (Re-Release) and KB4470788 (SSU) for Windows 10 V1809 in Release Preview Ring (see). Microsoft has not yet published any details. I assume that the updates will be released tonight (11/27/2018).

USB Intel Microcode Boot Loader for Spectre mitigation

[German]Intel offers a Microcode Boot Loader that creates a bootable USB stick. It automatically applies the latest Intel microcodes to the identified CPU during boot. This should protect the system from Spectre vulnerabilities.
