Windows (network): Incorrect configuration causing printing issues

Windows[German]In Windows, there are always problems with printers no longer being found or no longer working after updates. I have published numerous articles on this topic in different variations on the blog. A blog reader contacted me because he sees a single reason for the various printer problems in the network. He blames the errors on the users and administrators who integrate the printers incorrectly. I'll deal with the issue here in the blog.

It has been known since the middle of the month that the vulnerability CVE-2024-34102 exists in Adobe Commerce and Magento online stores. Together with a Linux vulnerability, thousands of stores can be taken over by attackers. A fix has been available for a few days, but the majority of online stores are still running unpatched versions.

Oracle plays the JAVA license card; audits in companies; hunt for unlicensed users

[German]Using JAVA? Then you should be prepared for Oracle knocking on your door and wanting to talk about license fees. Top 200 companies have already faced an audit where Oracle checked the "license per user" and made additional demands if necessary. This is set to increase over the next 6 to 9 months. And Oracle is probably tracking down users who are using JAVA without licenses.

Zabbix version 7.0.0 LTS and 7.0.1 released

[German]Another newsflash – Zabbix version 7.0.0 was released as an LTS release at the beginning of June. Zabbix is a distributed open source monitoring solution for the corporate environment. An overview of the new features can be found here and in the release notes. Zabbix 7.0.1 is now available, with further new features such as VMware event log monitoring.

VMware by Broadcom signs agreement with Dell, Microsoft, Lenovo and HPE
