[German]I have received a user report that Outlook 365 can cause problems when searching. A reader contacted me about this. There were workarounds to get around the problem. However, on June 7, 2024, Microsoft published a support article stating that the problem had been fixed. Here is a brief overview of this issue.
[German]At the end of April 2024, all customer accounts with licenses were due to be migrated from VMware to Broadcom. Since mid-May 2024, all VMware customers should have been able to find their data in the new Broadcom portal. But I have received reports that the portal migration is running very smoothly and customers are missing their licenses. Security experts tore Recall apart as an absolute nightmare because it opens up the possibility for cybercriminals to access user information. After a powerful headwind, Microsoft has now announced that Recall will be made available as an "opt-in" under Windows 11. In addition, security is to be provided by means of Windows Hello. But is this accurate, or is Recall simply bullshit?

[German]A blog reader has contacted me by e-mail, because he faced an issue. On a Windows Server 2022, the "SMTP Server" feature is uninstalled with every update installation. This has now happened for the second time around Patchday. After researching, the feature has already been quoted as deprecated in Windows Server 2012 and will be dropped in Windows Server 2025. Microsoft seems to remove the role via monthly security updates.

In the meantime, there is a second report from Matthias about a service disruption. But it looks as if the services of this provider of managed security services are currently unavailable. [German]The FBI has succeeded in recovering a total of 7,000 keys for decrypting files. This may enable the victims concerned to decrypt the encrypted data and thus recover it. [German]Webex communication software from Cisco have had a security flaw. Research by journalists of German media "Die Zeit" revealed that the software has more vulnerabilities than the developer Cisco has publicly confirmed. According to Zeit research by Eva Wolfangel, "thousands of video conferences from ministries" were found accessible for publing – and she joined some of these meeting rooms. The issue, which I have already touched in my German blog in the context of the Bundeswehr Taurus wiretapping affair, is thus expanding significantly and developing into a worst-case scenario for German authorities.
