This resulted in users experiencing problems accessing Microsoft Teams and Exchange Online features. As the disruption occurred late in the evening, users in Europe were likely to have been less affected. After just under two hours, Microsoft managed to resolve the cause of the disruption.

However, third parties would not be able to use the data as it is "unreadable." An attacker claims to have stolen 1.3 terabytes of compressed data, including personal data in plain text.
