Windows 11: Input Experience consumes 20% CPU power in File Explorer

Especially the so-called "Input Experience" puts a strain on the CPU – I've read about 20% CPU resource consumption in Explorer. But with a small registry intervention this Input Experience can be deactivated if necessary.

Ransomware attack responsible for Rackspace Exchange instance outage in Dec. 2022

Now the company has confirmed that a ransomware attack on its servers was the reason for this outage. It is unclear whether customer data was affected by this incident. There is at least a suspicion that the ProxyNotShell vulnerabilities enabled this attack.

Details of the vulnerability in NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi6 Router (RAX30 AX2400)

A misconfiguration allowed attackers in router firmware prior to version V1.0.9.90 to communicate with these devices from the Internet as if they were on the consumer's local network. In addition, the firmware's auto-update function seems to be broken. Security provider Tenable has now published details about this.

Windows: November 2022 updates cause ODBC connection problems with SQL databases

Update[German]It looks like the Windows updates released by Microsoft in November 2022 may cause problems accessing SQL databases. Then the ODBC driver triggers a database access error. According to Microsoft, all Windows versions that are still supported (both clients and servers) are affected by this problem. There is no solution for this problem yet.

Vulnerability in Citrix Workspace App for Windows allows password theft

Bug causes script error in Group Policy Preferences (GPP) e.g. for Task Scheduler

Windows[German]Microsoft's developers have implemented a bug in the new Windows 11 version 22H2 (and also in Windows 11 21H2), which will prevent administrators to use Group Policy Preferences (GPP). If you try to set up a scheduled task in the Group Policy Management Editor, you will fail with a script error. This is because a DLL with a broken script is used in the Scheduled Tasks preferences. The error also occurs in the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC).
