Microsoft 365: Switch to monthly app updates for May 2022 planned

Update[German]Microsoft plans in May 2022 to switch systems with Microsoft 365 currently in semi-annual enterprise channel to the monthly enterprise channel. This means that the Office apps will then be updated every month. Administrators, who do not want this must actively initiate an opt-out in the Microsoft 365 Apps Admin Center untill May 20, 2022. The information has been distributed as a notification in the Admin Center at the end of April 2022. Here is some information about this process.

Windows 11: Preview update KB5012643 causes display issues in safe mode

Windows[German]Microsoft has released the preview update KB5012643 for Windows 11 on April 25, 2022. Windows 11 share grew by less than 0.4 % in April 2022

Windows[German]How widespread is Windows 11 in use in April 2022, after it was released in October 2021? Microsoft does not disclose any figures. The data that can somehow be obtained from third-party sources is very contradictory. OLG court ruling: German BSI was allowed to warn against Kaspersky antivirus software

Paragraph[German]On April 28, 2022, the Higher Administrative Court in Münster dismissed the appeal by the German-based branch of the company from the Russian Kaspersky Group against the BSI's warning, not to use Kaspersky Antivirus. This upheld a former ruling by the Cologne Regional Court. The latter had approved that the BSI (Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik, Federal Office for Information Security) was allowed to warn against Kaspersky's antivirus software.

Microsoft Edge 101.0.1210.32

Edge[German]Microsoft has updated the Chromium Edge browser to version Edge 101.0.1210.32 as of April 28, 2022. It is a maintenance update that fixes the two vulnerabilities CVE-2022-29146 and CVE-2022-29147 (see also the release notes page for the new version). No idea if the bug mentioned in the post Chrome 101.0.4951.41 fixes 30 Vulnerabilities – but has a GPO bug is also present on Edge. The browser should update automatically, but can also be downloaded here.

Stop: Domain name scam from chinanameregistry

For years I have been receiving emails from a Chinese organization named chinanameregistry. They write, a company is trying to register my domain borncity in China and would like me to contact them if I have business connections there. The whole thing is a domain name scam and has only one purpose: to rip off gullible domain owners.

Chrome 101.0.4951.41 fixes 30 Vulnerabilities – but has a GPO bug

[German]Google has released updates to Google Chrome 101.0.4951.41 for Windows and Mac on the desktop in the Stable Channel as of April 26, 2022. This is the new 101 development branch, with the update closing 30 vulnerabilities, some of which are rated High. Addendum: But this version ignores group policies (GPOs). Microsoft Build (May 24, – 26, 2022), Registration is now open

This year's Microsoft developer conference BUILD is scheduled to take place between May 24 and 26. As in the two previous years, Build 2022 will take place online. Therefore, anyone interested in learning more about the latest developer tools can register to attend for free. Registration is now open on this Microsoft page. What's new this year is that there will be a regional conferences for countries like France, Germany, Japan, Latin America, and the UK.
