Zscaler study: 400% increase in retail and wholesale phishing attacks

The annual ThreatLabz report sees phishing-as-a-service as the reason for the rise in attacks across industries worldwide. Retail and wholesale was the hardest-hit industry, with phishing attacks up more than 400 percent in the last 12 months.

Windows 11: Market share at XP level in April 2022, is the euphoria over?

Windows[German]If you follow the press coverage, Windows 11 is a tremendous success – almost 20 % of the desktop market should already run with this operating system. But there are doubts – an analysis by Lansweeper suggests that Windows 11 will run on about 1.44% of all PCs in April 2022. I have not heard any figures from Microsoft so far. European Union: Agreement on digital law against hate and incitement (Digital Services Act, DSA)

This is a law on digital services that is intended to ensure stricter supervision of online platforms and more protection for consumers. This primarily affects U.S. platforms such as Facebook or Google, which will have to delete hate speech and other illegal content on the Internet in the European Union more quickly in the future.

Jupyter notebook are attacked with ransomware

Team Nautilus, Aqua Security's research unit specializing in the cloud-native technology stack, discovered this new attack method. Aqua Security is the largest provider of pure cloud native security. The team was able to uncover for the first time a Python-based ransomware attack targeting Jupyter Notebook, an open-source software popular with data scientists.

Exchange Server CUs (April 20, 2022)

USB-C as a uniform standard for charging cable is coming in Europe

[German]The next hurdle to make the USB-C standard as mandatory for charging cables for mobile devices in Europe has cleared – and the standard can probably come soon (Summer 2024). The Committee for the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) of the EU Parliament has approved the corresponding draft resolution. Now it only needs the approval of the EU parliament and the member states so that the whole thing will then be considered mandatory (possibly from the summer). Apple could then emerge as the biggest loser from this story.

Quick Assist: Intune certificate expired and TLS problems in Windows
