[German]Microsoft plans to phase out support for the NetBIOS and LLMNR network protocols used for multicast name resolution in Windows in the future. Currently, this is already being tested in the last Windows Dev and Beta Insider builds. At a later point in time, the complete support in Windows should be dropped.

Team Nautilus, Aqua Security's research unit specializing in the cloud-native technology stack, discovered this new attack method. Aqua Security is the largest provider of pure cloud native security. The team was able to uncover for the first time a Python-based ransomware attack targeting Jupyter Notebook, an open-source software popular with data scientists.
