[German]The Basler AG, located in Ahrensburg (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany), was victim of a cyber attack, as notifications in financial portals suggest. The attack occurred as early as November 15, 2021, and resulted in all of the company's IT systems being shut down. As a result, there have been business interruptions at Basler AG.
[German]Microsoft has officially released the Windows 10 November 2021 Update (21H2) as of November 16, 2021 (see my post Windows 10 November 2021 Update (21H2) released). This is the Fall 2021 feature upgrade, which will receive support until June 23, 2023 in the Home and Pro versions, and until June 11, 2024 in the Enterprise and Education versions. But what does Windows 10 21H2 offer for enterprise IT pros in particular?

However, a company account will be required for this, at the latest from November 19, 2021. It was already announced in 2020 to October 2020, then nothing happened for a long time. The manufacturer has admitted that its Windows 10 graphics drivers have numerous vulnerabilities. Some vulnerabilities (e.g. in the graphics driver) are classified with security score high.
[German]Security researchers from ETH Zürich has developed a new Rowhammer technique – using fuzzing – to bypass DDR4 memory protections and flip memory cells. That technique, called Blacksmith, allows an unprivileged process to change or corrupt data stored in RAM cells. This new technique also allows to bypass DDR4 memory protections methods developed so far.
[German]The Emotet malware (Trojan and ransomware) was quite successful and infected numerous systems. Law enforcers had managed to hack the botnet's infrastructure for distributing the malware. As of April 25, 2021, Emotet malware was automatically removed from Windows machines. However, it was not permanent, because the Emotet malware is back and building a new botnet.
[German]The developers of the Thunderbird email client have released Thunderbird 91.3.1 on November 15, 2021. This is a maintenance and security update for the 91 development branch, which makes minor fixes. Here's a brief overview.
