Adobe Acrobat (Reader) DC 21.001.20149

[German]Adobe has updated Adobe Acrobat (Reader) DC to version 21.001.20149 for Windows and macOS on April 16, 2021. See the release notes for download addresses for the Windows and macOS installers. Two issues are fixed: FDF documents cannot be opened in the web app, and Acrobat and Reader generate incorrect signature data for elliptical curve signatures when the elliptical certificate is stored in the Windows certificate store. Malware infection of Gigaset Android phones and the WhatsApp/SIM problem

[German]After the (supply chain) malware attack on various Gigaset Android smartphones, WhatsApp access was blocked for many users. There is an option to have the access unlocked again. Gigaset: Roadblocks in cleaning up the malware attack (April 12, 2021)

[German]Older models of Gigaset smartphones have been attacked by malware via the manufacturer's update servers from March 26, 2021 – and increasingly from April 1, 2021. The manufacturer, Gigaset, has issued the information Lösung Malware-Angriff Smartphones with instructions on how to clean up the malware infestation of its Android devices on April 8, 2021. However, according to previous feedback, this doesn't really work for many people. Now there is a revised guidance from Gigaset dated April 12, 2021 on how to clean up the devices. Hence, a brief update with the latest findings.

As of May 9, 2021, Microsoft will only use SHA-2

[German]Microsoft will only allow the more secure SHA-2 algorithm in its processes and services (including in TLS certificates, code signing and file hashing) from May 9, 2021. SHA-1 use will then no longer be possible.
