[German]Users of Windows 11 24H2 have been struggling with RDP problems for months. Connections break off or cannot be established. Microsoft has now confirmed these problems, which I addressed in a blog post. The preview update from January 2025 is said to be responsible for the problems, and the preview update from March 2025 brings a fix.
[GER1, GER2]Since the end of 2024, users of Microsoft Excel 2016 have been running into a strange issue. Excel files that have been password protected cannot be opened multiple times. It seems to be a problem caused by Windows 11 24H2. I now have solutions from readers to fix the problem, in the hope that Microsoft will come up with a fix at some point.

[German]A short note or addendum for users of Windows 11 24H2 who rely on Veeam Backup & Recovery. Rudi has already pointed out to me on March 22, 2025 that the restore functionality of Veeam backups via Veeam Recovery in Windows 11 no longer works. Windows updates from February 2025 seem to be to blame. Veeam has confirmed this and is working with Microsoft to resolve the issue.

[German]Microsoft has released optional cumulative (preview) updates for Windows 10 22H2 (KB5053643) and Windows 11 22H2-23H2 (KB5053657) on March 25, 2025. Addendum: The preview update KB5053656 for Windows 11 24H2 has been released on March 27, 2025. These updates contain corrections that can be tested and will then be generally rolled out as fixes in the following month. It should be noted that preview updates must be manually initiated for download and installation by default (although Windows 11 22H2 and later contains options for automatic installation).
