[German]Quick question for the administrators and users of Microsoft Teams 2.0. Have there been any problems with the software in the last few days? A user has contacted me complaining about problems with phone calls via Microsoft Teams that his users are experiencing. However, there is not much information available.
[German]Over the last few days, I have received several emails from readers reporting that Microsoft is rolling out the Windows RE update KB5048239 for Windows 10 21H2 and 22H2. The problem is that this update is being installed again and again under Windows 10. The operating system gets into an "update loop".
[German]German blog reader Robert contacted me recently by emailed to report that he had run into problems with Outlook and other apps under Microsoft 365 on Windows Server 2016 (and 2019) Terminal Server. Microsoft Outlook, Excel crashes in a certain build, which could be related to an Edge update.
[German]Microsoft announced this week that two problems with Outlook Classic have been fixed. One is the hangs that occurred when copying via Ctrl+C. In addition, a problem with the GMail account connection has been fixed. I'll pull the two topics into one post.
[German]A brief addendum from Friday, January 10, 2025: Microsoft announced in the Microsoft 365 Message Center that Windows 10 will also receive the new Outlook app as a "pre-install". The app will be pre-installed on systems as part of updates with the preview update at the end of January and with the regular February 2025 update.

[German]Big slap on the wrist for the EU Commission from the European Court of Justice. In proceedings before the ECJ, the Commission was ordered to pay damages to a German activist because the EU Commission had given data to Meta and thus transferred it to the USA.
[German]Internet providers and their systems are the focus of hackers. The Russian internet provider Nodex, which is based in St. Petersburg, also found this out when it fell victim to a cyber attack (presumably from Ukraine). Data was extracted from the systems and the servers were completely deleted.
[German]Facebook founder and Meta CEO Marc Zuckerberg has announced a major change of direction regarding user posts on the Facebook and Instagram platforms. Cooperation with fact-checkers in the USA is to be abolished and the company intends to campaign for this worldwide.
[German]In case anyone hasn't noticed, it's 2025. Microsoft has also come out and said that 2025 will be the "year of Windows 11 PC updates". After all, Windows 10 will cease to be supported in October 2025 and half to two thirds of all Windows clients are not yet on Windows 11. Everything is "hungry for Windows 11 and new Copilot+PCs". Some people are walking around Redmond with dollar signs in their eyes. I have a few more poison pills from the reality.
[German]Short note for users and administrators of PhoneMondo. The developer, the German Scavix Software GmbH & Co. KG has been started inform customers that the company was victim of a cyber attack. The attackers were able to access a database of a test environment for the PhoneMondo cloud telephony software.
